Post Sr. Vice Commander Selected for Award

Dennis Burns, VFW Post 4669 Senior Vice Commander, was recently selected for the 2022 Governor’s Veterans Commendation Award. He was notified by Governor Gianforte’s office the evening before Veteran’s Day.

The Montana Governor’s Veterans Commendation Award was launched in 2021 to recognize outstanding Montana veterans who have selflessly served our country in uniform and made a positive impact in their community. Among some of the activities Dennis was noted for were 5000 volunteer hours at the local VA Clinic, with another 2500 hours to be added to that total for the past two years, and working with the City of Great Falls and the Montana Department of transportation to have signs put up to direct traffic to the VA Clinic. Dennis has served as an officer in the VFW and the local Disabled American Veterans (DAV) chapter, and is quick to help veterans in need.

Governor Gianforte will honor Dennis with an award ceremony locally this year, and he will be presented with a special commemorative flag flown at the Montana State Capitol in his honor. The Governor’s office congratulated him and thanked him for having made the Last Best Place even better.
